Signature Experience
Bua Kham Table
The only table anchored in our UNESCO-classified pond, pairing candlelit ambiance with charcoal laap, buffalo steak, bamboo-stuffed Mekong fish, and warm chocolate fondant.
Every dish at Manda de Laos begins in a family kitchen. The recipes travel from grandmothers to daughters, from the riverbanks of Luang Prabang straight to our table. We cook the way Laotian families have cooked for generations, with patience, herbs picked at dawn, and sticky rice steamed in bamboo baskets passed down through the years.
We opened these doors in 2015 to share that same kitchen with visitors from around the world, and in the decade since, more than 500,000 guests have pulled up a chair. The house itself has stayed in the family for generations, tucked behind Luang Prabang's main street just steps from the Night Market and the stairs up Mount Phousi.
Make sure to reserve the one and only sofa table, offering a full immersive view of the UNESCO-classified lily pond.
Discover the Bua Kham Table
Manda de Laos sits beside three lotus ponds that have been protected under Luang Prabang's UNESCO World Heritage status since 1995. Our dining terraces reach out directly over the water.
Discover the Restaurant
The bar runs on Lao ingredients: house-infused Lao Lao rice whiskey, lemongrass, tamarind, and whatever's in season from the garden. Our bartenders steep the whiskey for weeks with herbs and fruit picked just steps away, then build each cocktail around what that infusion gives them.
The Lao Parinha is rice-ground and citrus-heavy, the drink regulars order twice. Have it on the terrace, beside the UNESCO-classified ponds, as the light goes down and the lanterns come on. Come early for a seat close to the water, or later, when the garden still smells of lemongrass and the kitchen fires are still burning. Either way, the bar keeps pouring long after dark.
